Values
Supporting the emerging and established arts community in Omaha and surrounding areas, BFF offers community building and artistic opportunities on a daily basis, culminating monthly as an arena for artists and the community to come together and engage in educational, opportunistic, and unique experiences. BFF wishes to conduct itself in a serious and creative manner, supporting all levels of interdisciplinary arts – music, performance, visual, etc.. We also wish to continue to work as a creative and novel institution, bringing forth perhaps unconventional ideas and strategies in supporting the arts and the neighborhood.

The Story
After months of planning and research, Benson First Friday began in June 2012 with the help of orga- nizers Alex Jochim & Jamie Hardy. Although the June 2012 event was planned as a one-time gig, Jo- chim and Hardy saw so much success and promise in the night, that they immediately began planning the following month...and the following month...and the following month...etc. Three years later, after many months of event planning, artist curating and installing, collaborating with Benson busi- nesses, and growing with the help of community support, BFF was granted 501c-3 Nonprofit Status in July 2015. The duo - along with many more acquired organizers - had wanted to see the organization grow from just a once-a-month gathering, to one that supported the area arts on a daily basis. BFF wishes to grow into an entity that supports artist projects, educational programs, gallery and studio spaces, and so much more.
